This is the website of sisters Mary and Valerie Behan.

Mary and Val grew up in Ireland. Val has a BSc from University College Dublin and a PhD from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She spent most of her career as a Research Scientist with Agriculture Canada in Ottawa. Mary has a PhD from University College Dublin. She moved to the United States in the mid-1970s and spent her career as a Professor of Neuroscience at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Both are now retired, and divide their time between North America and Ireland.

Mary and Val share this website because they wrote a book together, Abbey Girls, a memoir about their childhood in Ireland.  

Mary has just published her first novel, A Measured Thread.
